Damian's Story
Meet Damian!

Damian arrived to Mississauga Animal Services in October of 2025 and was adopted in December 2025. Unfortunately Damian was returned to the shelter in February of 2026 due to increasing reactivity on walks with strangers.

Damian is a 2 year old German Shepherd, roughly 80lbs, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated (rabies, dhpp, bordetella), as well as dewormed.

Damian has been working with a trainer after coming back to the shelter and he has improved in his confidence exponentially. Damian can still get nervous if he feels backed into a corner with strangers but with proper advocating and leash handling he meets new people very gently.

Damian was previously in a home with a family but unfortunately became very protective of the kids in the home. Damian would do well with a family that can give him firm boundaries, a confident handler and maintain his training at home. Shepherd experience will be a must for his future home and he absolutely loves being given a job.

Damian has been on outings to home depot while working on his training and he does not seem bothered by loud noises or machinery. He would do very well in a less populated area as city centres might be overwhelming for him.

A home as the only pet would be ideal as he adjusts to life outside of the shelter.

If you are interested in giving this smart boy his next forever home please contact Mississauga Animal Services at (905)896-5864 opt 3 to book an appointment.
