Dallas `Dally` Winston's Story

Dally and siblings were transferred to Valley Humane on 3/11 from Stockton Animal Services. They had been found stray. Dally weighs 8.8 pounds.

This dog has been diagnosed with demodicosis. Demodicosis is a skin condition caused by a mite that lives in the hair follicles of all dogs, but under certain conditions - if the dog is immature, underweight, on a poor diet and stressed, the numbers of mites in the hair follicles increase, causing the fur to fall out in patches. Demodex is not contagious to other animals or to people. She has been treated for this skin condition while at VHS and has improved before being made available for adoption. This dog is due for her final treatment on 3/31/26 which will be provided to the adopting family if adopted prior to this date. It is recommended that the adopting family shares this history with their family veterinarian.

Do you have questions about this animal or are you ready to take the next step to adoption? Pleasanton Valley Humane Society's Adoption Policy
How It Works Potential adopters can read an animal’s profile to determine if the pet would be a good fit for their home and lifestyle. Copy and paste the application URL from the animal’s profile or click to apply. Once the application is received, an adoption counselor will call to discuss the match. Be ready to answer the call from Valley Humane as soon as your application is submitted. Animals shown on our website are ready to go home. We typically schedule an adoption appointment within 24-48 hours of approving an application where you can meet the pet and complete paperwork. Once you’ve decided a pet is the right fit for your family, the adoption counselor will walk you through our adoption agreement. All pertinent medical information will be provided to you, as well as a take-home packet including information on feeding your new pet. We will also verify that the animals’ microchip is accurate and prepare them for travel. Finally, we will collect the adoption fee. Please allow approximately one hour to complete the adoption process. After taking a quick picture to share on social media (optional, of course!), you’re ready to head home and start enjoying life with your new friend
