Dakota's Story

Meet Dakota, the petite terrier mix with a heart the size of a Great Dane and enough personality to power a small village!

This little lady is the definition of big dog energy in a fun-sized package. She’ll trot into your home like she owns the place—then immediately melt into your lap for snuggles she clearly believes she’s owed. Dakota is friendly, affectionate, and the world’s tiniest cuddle champion.

She plays beautifully with other dogs, but when it comes to mealtime… well, this queen prefers her own royal dining chamber. She isn’t mean about it—just a tad stingy with her snacks and appreciates having her own space to enjoy her feast in peace.

Dakota was found abandoned on the side of the road, locked in a dog crate, and desperately wants a family who will love her unconditionally until the end.

Dakota is 7 months old, fully vetted, healthy, and officially ready to charm her way into her forever family. Two Black Dogs Foundation's Adoption Policy
All adopters MUST fill out an application. We do not respond to inquiries submitted through PetFinder. If you have questions about a specific animal feel free to email us, or send us a message on Facebook. Applications are reviewed in the order they are received. If you are approved to adopt a member of our team will contact you. Meet and greets are set up by appointment only after you’ve been approved. In most cases you are allowed to take your new pet home after your meet and greet, unless the animal is too young to be spayed/neutered, in which case you will sign up to foster-to-adopt. We do not hold animals so please do not apply or set up a meet and greet unless you are ready to leave with your new pet. Any vetting done at your own vet clinic will be at your own expense. Spay/neuter included in adoption fee must be done by one of our local partner vet clinics, and adopter is responsible for arranging transportation. All animals adopted through TBDF are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and parasite free and up to date on their preventions. All cats and kittens are FiV/FeLV tested, all dogs over 6 months of age are heartworm tested and treated if positive.
