Dakota's Story

Dakota is a beautiful 2-year-old Collie mix weighing 46 pounds. With her gorgeous fluffy coat, bushy tail, and sweet personality, she's sure to steal your heart! She may have applications in progress, but is currently available.

Dakota has a friendly, affectionate demeanor and loves giving kisses and getting plenty of head scratches. She has a lower-to-medium energy level and would be a wonderful companion for a family looking for a loving dog who enjoys spending time with her people without needing to be on the go all the time. She does well with other dogs and has many qualities that would make her a wonderful family dog. Dakota is crate trained and housebroken, making her transition into a new home a little easier.

This girl is also highly motivated by food! She enjoys hard chew toys, especially Benebones and West Paw toys, so having some durable favorites available will help keep her happily occupied. Like many young, affectionate dogs, Dakota does have a habit of jumping up when she's excited and looking for attention. With some patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, she should continue learning that keeping all four paws on the floor is the best way to get those head scratches she loves.Dakota is a sweet, beautiful girl who is ready to find a family of her own.

Adoption fee is $375 and includes spay/neuter, microchip, fecal/deworming, vaccines and prevention up to date. Ohio residents only.

STS is a foster-based and volunteer-run rescue. We do not have a physical location or set hours for you to meet dogs, and it does take time to answer each inquiry. All dogs are in foster homes and once an application is approved and a home visit is completed you will be able to schedule meet and greets with available dogs. We encourage interested individuals to get approved prior to searching as it helps expedite the process. A Petfinder inquiry is not a substitute for an application.
