At about 1 year old and 55 pounds, he has the perfect mix of playful puppy energy and a calm, affectionate personality. Whether you're looking for a hiking buddy, a running partner, or a couch companion, Dax is happy to match your pace.<br/><br/>His favorite thing in the world is spending time with his people. He loves chasing balls—especially 14-inch softballs, where he proudly shows off his skills as the family's outfielder! He also enjoys chew bones, squeaky toys, and has a soft spot for the tiniest Lamb Chop toy in the house. When he's not playing, you'll usually find him lounging in the backyard or curled up next to his favorite humans for a nap.<br/><br/>Dax has settled nicely into a daily routine with breakfast after his morning potty break, an afternoon walk, dinner, and bedtime in his crate around 10 p.m. He sleeps soundly through the night, walks beautifully on a leash, and stays calm and relaxed in his crate when his family is away.<br/><br/>He's doing well with potty training and is crate trained. Dax already knows sit and is working on down, touch, and improving his recall. He's incredibly food motivated and eager to learn, making training both fun and rewarding.<br/><br/>Dax gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He is good with kids and has a generally easygoing, non-reactive personality in new environments.<br/><br/>While Dax still has a few puppy tendencies, he's a smart, adaptable dog who will continue to thrive with consistent guidance and love. He would fit in well with an active family or a more laid-back home, as long as he gets to be part of the action.
