Daisy's Story
**Fostered in Jacksonville, Florida**

Daisy is a beautiful 3-year-old Great Dane with a tender heart and a cautious nature. She’s the kind of dog who wants connection and companionship—but needs time, patience, and understanding to truly feel safe.

Daisy is a bit collar-shy and can be startled by unfamiliar sights and sounds (things like golf carts or sudden noises can overwhelm her), but she walks well on leash and continues to make slow, steady progress every day. She’s an anxious girl overall, which is completely understandable, and she does best when allowed to move at her own pace without pressure.

At home, Daisy bonds closely with her people and prefers someone who is around a good portion of the day—not necessarily retired or work-from-home, but not gone for long stretches either. She has not shown any signs of resource guarding toward humans, but she may be protective of high-value items around other animals, so careful management is important.

Daisy may do best in a home:

- Without young children

- With dog-savvy adults

- Possibly with cats, but only very respectful ones who give her space

- Possibly with another dog, though her off-leash play style is still being evaluated

She does well encountering dogs on leash and shows interest in play, and once she’s fully comfortable, Daisy may enjoy an active lifestyle with long walks or other enriching activities.

Daisy is friendly with strangers but prefers slow introductions and gentle handling. She is still learning to feel safe at night and may alert to noises she hears, and she uses self-soothing behaviors like licking or sucking on soft toys to help manage her anxiety.

This sweet girl will absolutely shine in the right home—but she needs someone patient, experienced, and willing to give her the time she needs to settle in. Daisy isn’t a “plug-and-play” dog, but for the right person, the bond she offers will be deeply rewarding.

If you believe in giving a gentle soul the time she deserves, Daisy may be your perfect match.

Daisy is fully vetted, spayed, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $350. To read over the adoption requirements before applying to adopt Daisy please visit www.nwflgdr.com/adopt.

Please note: NWFLGDR does not transport. All approved adopters are required to meet and pick up the dog in person from his or her foster parent’s home.
