VIP: Dahlia is a very sweet and loving dog who loves pets and cuddles. She is about 3 years of age and is housetrained and crate trained. She will sleep in her crate and likes to be fed in it too. Dahlia is a tri-pod who is high energy and loves to play ball. She would be better off in a home as an only dog because she is picky about friends. Dahlia is very smart and fully trained. She knows the commands heel, sit, down, place, watch me, and come. Dahlia loves all sorts of treats and likes to ride in the car. She went on a group dog walk with other dogs and did great. She was their three-legged wonder! She was very excited to get out for a walk and very patient while being harnessed in the lobby of the shelter. . Dahlia even did well at jogging speeds! She loves to run and has plenty of horsepower! Dahlia is very affectionate and really wants a new home!<br/>Adopted animals are not able to go to their new home until spay and neuter surgery has been done. <br/>Adoptions are first come first serve, and no appointment or application is needed. Plano Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy
Adoptions are first come first serve. There is no application. Anyone over 18 years of age is eligible to adopt provided that they meet the adoption criteria for that specific animal. Criteria can range from having basic knowledge of the animal’s species or breed, having an established veterinary history, not having young children, the animal being legal to own in the city they live in, the breed they’re interested in being accepted at their apartments, etc. If a potential adopter doesn’t meet the criteria in place for that animal, they will be encouraged to look at other animals that may not have those restrictions in place. The criteria must also be met in order to visit with an animal.
