Daddio's Story

Daddio is a senior gentleman (paperwork from Animal Control says he is 8 years old as of September 2026)—but don’t let his age fool you! This sweet boy has a whole lot of puppy left in him.

When we first met Daddio at Animal Control, all the other dogs were barking their heads off. But Daddio just sat quietly in his kennel, looking out with the saddest eyes. He seemed almost invisible among all the noise.

Then he came to us...and what a transformation!

Daddio is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and full of life. He bounds around the play yard like a puppy, enjoying every opportunity to stretch his legs and soak up the attention he deserves. It’s almost as if he knows he’s finally safe and can let his personality shine.

When Daddio arrived, he was absolutely filthy—so dirty that it was hard not to wonder if he had ever experienced a proper bath. After getting cleaned up, he seemed like a completely different dog. We can only imagine how much better he must have felt having all that dirt and grime washed away.

Now Daddio is discovering something even better: what it feels like to be loved. He has so much sweetness to give and is making up for lost time one happy tail wag, one zoom around the yard, and one loving interaction at a time.

Daddio may be an older gentleman, but his heart is young, his spirit is playful, and he is ready for the chapter he should have had all along—a safe, loving forever home where he can finally be someone’s very special boy. He's going to make a great companion for a loving family.

If you think that family could be you, email us at bombshellbullies@hotmail.com!

Bombshell Bullies Pit Bull Rescue's Adoption Policy
Must be at least 22 years of age to apply. Our adoption process is as follows: First, the applicant must fill out an application. After the application is reviewed by the rescue and the references have been called, dog introduction will be scheduled. If all goes well, a home visit will be scheduled and the dog will be placed. The first few weeks of having the dog is a trial period to make sure the dog is a good fit for you and your family. During the trial period, the rescue provides the necessities for you: crate, food, leash, and collar. If after the trial period you decide you'd like to adopt, adoption papers will be completed and the adoption fee is due at this time. If you decide this dog is not a good fit, the dog comes back to rescue and we can possibly look for a dog that would be a better match. The fee for puppies under under a year is $600, 1 - 5 years is $500, and over 6 years is $400. This fee includes the cost of the spay or neuter, vaccinations, microchip, and heartworm test (in dogs over 7 months). Adopters must agree to attend the Bombshell Bullies training program. Our main areas of adoption are the Chicagoland area....typically within an hour driving radius of Vernon Hills, IL. Placement in other towns/cities/states depends on the availability of the rescue to do a home visit and the adopter to attend training classes with our behaviorist.
