D128 Litter Nala PLEASE READ BIO FIRST's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Newest update: Nala does not like cats! UPDATE: Nala is a bit standoffish when she first meets people, she is more comfortable with women than men but still growls and barks when meeting any new people, we are working on socialization skills. She is also doing well with house training but she is potty pad trained and still uses them from time to time . Nala is the kind of gal that once she loves you she is yours and prefers to be only yours! I believe Nala would do best with no dogs in the home as she lived in a home with four other dogs and really does prefer one-on-one attention. Preferably only older children that are not loud or no children at all. She loves to play ball, and is currently learning to bring it back to you! Nala does tend to bark a lot when you leave her so probably no apartments, Condominiums, or duplexes for her. I also prefer a fenced yard as as Nala gets the zoomies and loves to run! She also does not have the best recall if she is chasing a bird or squirrel and bunnies! I am still learning more about her as times goes on. UPDATE: Nala is a Bichon Frise, 3 years old and potty pad trained . So far she's a wonderful lap dog and loves to play with toys.
Meet the Quartet of Cuteness!
Nala, Bella Olaf and Big Mac aka Max are all Bichon Frise / Maltese mixes. They may be a mom, dad and two offspring but we aren't certain. What we do know is they all came from the same home. Their owner died and the family was unable to keep them. Each one has a distinct personality: Bella is described as an 'attention hog', while Nala is more laid back and will not seek attention, but if you are willing to give it she will happily accept it. Big Mac aka Max seems more outgoing than Olaf, who prefers at this point to 'observe' his world. All are said to be good with other dogs and children.
All will need time to adjust to a new home and routine. Even though they are said to be good with other dogs and children, they have only lived together, so all will need slow and proper introductions to children and other dogs. We don't know how they are with cats. They all need basic training, including potty training. Vet appointments for needed vaccines and spay/neuter are being done soon. Because of their breed, each will require ongoing grooming, an additional cost to consider.
We know these littles won't be with us for long so if interested in adopting any of them please apply soon.

Happy Days Dog & Cat Rescue requires a Spay/Neuter Contract by the adopter if puppies and kittens in our care are too young for sterilization at the time of adoption. This is a form the adopter signs at the time of adoption, confirming that they will get the pet spayed/neutered by a certain date. HDDCR holds a deposit [$50 for dogs, $25 for cats] in addition to the adoption fee until we receive proof from a veterinarian that the dog or cat was spayed/neutered by the date stipulated on the Spay/Neuter Contract. The deposit will be refunded to the adopter if spay/neuter was done according to the Spay/Neuter Contract signed by the adopter.
Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The microchip is transferred to the adopter once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a one-time $15 microchip enrollment fee, paid at the time of adoption. Microchips are enrolled with AKC Reunite. Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.

1. Submit Application All applicants must complete an online Adoption Application found on our website, which is then reviewed by our vet check team and a vet check done if applicable. 2. Meet the Pet A meet-n-greet should be arranged with the prospective adoptive family and foster animal applied for. All current pets must be included. 3. Home Check Sometimes the meet-n-greet is combined with the home visit. The home visit is critical to make sure the foster animals is a good fit. 4. Sign Adoption Contract When an adoption is a go, the adopters sign an Adoption Contract. The Contract may have addendums depending if the animal is spayed or not. Our adoption process requires a completed Adoption Application, vet check, and home visit prior to adoption. If an adoption occurs there is an Adoption Contract the adopter will need to sign. If the animals is not fixed at the time of adoption, the Contract will contain a Spay/Neuter Agreement which details when the animal must be sterilized. A refundable spay/neuter deposit is also required at the time of adoption. We do not adopt our animals out on a first-come-first-served basis or do on-site adoptions. We strive to place our animals in an adoptive home that will best meet the animal's needs.
