Cybele's Story

Cybele is a very sweet and ornery little girl. She was brought in as a transfer from the Yates Center pound, she is housed with one of her buddies from there named Faleena and they love being together. She would love to go to a home with kids so she could run around with them and would love a yard to call her own. Do you have birds in your yard that are being annoying? She's your girl and loves being "on duty" and protecting her home. With that being said that means she unfortunately doesn't like chickens. She may be a smaller dog, but don't let her fool you because she's full of spunk!! She walks well on a leash, is great with other dogs (loves making new friends), likes cats, and absolutely adores kids of all ages.

Allen County Animal Rescue Facility's Adoption Policy
HOW TO ADOPT FROM ACARF: So you’ve met one of our cats or dogs whom you want to make part of your family? That’s great! What’s the next step? First, you need to fill out an application. You can fill out and submit an online adoption application or fill one out at the shelter. Please allow us a minimum of 24 hours to review your application and check with your vet and landlord (if applicable). Although it helps to be the first person to file an application for a pet, this may not guarantee that you will actually be the chosen adopter. Our first concern must always be finding the best situation–for our adopters, and for our adoptable pets. Once you have been approved to adopt an animal, we will make an appointment with our contracted veterinary care provider (Red Barn Veterinary Service) to have your pet spayed or neutered. Spaying/neutering our adopted animals is required by the State of Kansas. In addition, we now microchip all our adopted pets before they leave the shelter. Our adoption fee includes up-to-date shots, your pet’s spay/neuter surgery, plus microchipping. When your paperwork is completed, the adoption fee has been paid, spaying/neutering is done, and your dog/cat has been microchipped, you can take your new pet home! Usually, you can pick up your pet the next day following their spay/neuter surgery, either at the veterinarian’s office or at the shelter. Some adopters choose to have their pet spayed/neutered with their regular veterinarian (and that veterinarian is not at The Red Barn). If you do not use the services of our contracted vet and take your pet out unaltered, there will be an additional spay/neuter deposit of $125 (in addition to the adoption fee). The $125 deposit is refunded when you submit proof of spay/neuter, which must be done within 90 days. In this case, you would also be responsible for all spay/neuter charges. Some of our long-distance adopters find this option preferable to making two long trips. We hope this makes it easier! Whoever said, "money can't buy love," never paid an adoption fee! Welcome to a lifetime of love and happiness!
