Meet Curly Joe
We adopt only in the Greater St. Louis Area.
1. Absolutely must have a securely fenced yard.
2. No children.
3. Must be an active family, walking/hiking.
Meet Curly Joe. He's twice the corgi you'll ever want. Why? He is a Cardigan-Pembroke mix (2 times the corgi with merle coloration.) Three year old Curly Joe is a BIG guy (the Cardigan genes) with a BIG personality. He loves to snuggle and kiss, but on his terms. He is awesome at communication, but needs a very dog savvy family that is compassionate enough to listen and observe his behavior in order to understand AND respect what he's feeling. Curly Joe LOVES to go for power walks, and would be a great hiking companion. Daily exercise will surely help him to slim down, but he is also happy to play couch potato in between soccer games and his daily sniffy walk, allowing his people to get their work done. He REQUIRES a fenced yard for those soccer games (Treibball anyone?).
During his foster stay, he played with many other dogs including Aussies and Corgis from young to old, girls and boys. Curly Joe met a parrot, and he visited a resident cat without problems. He would love to have another dog brother or sister, but as long as his family is active, he could be happy as an only dog as well. He does become lonely if he can't be near his people though (slight separation anxiety accompanied by the cutest, most soulful howl), so he would truly be happiest with a family where someone is home most of the time (work from home, active retired, multiple persons with alternating schedules). Curly Joe would not be an appropriate companion for children and requires an adult only family. Curly Joe is neutered and up to date on all vaccines. microchipped, and house/crate trained. He will need to continue on his diet.
This bears repeating - Curly Joe REQUIRES a fenced yard and adult only family. Do not inquire if you do not meet these requirements. You will not receive a response.
