Cupcake's Story
Cupcake is a 2-year-old mixed-breed boy with a look that’s as unique as his story. This true mutt sports an adorable combination of a big ol’ head, floppy ears, short legs, and a spotted light brown and cream coat that makes him stand out wherever he goes. Cupcake came to the shelter after being found wandering as a stray, and sadly his previous owners never came to reclaim him.

When he first arrived, Cupcake was very nervous and unsure of his new surroundings. While he can still be a little shy with new people, he warms up beautifully when you take things slow and give him the patience he deserves. Once he feels safe, his sweet personality shines through. One of his favorite ways to ask for attention is gently poking you with his snoot—and if you start giving him butt scratches, be prepared, because he would happily accept them all day long!

Cupcake is a loyal, protective boy who forms strong bonds with the people he loves. He’s still learning that humans can be a source of kindness and comfort, and watching his confidence grow is incredibly rewarding. Curious by nature, he loves exploring his surroundings and taking in the world through as many sniffs as possible.

Playtime is also high on Cupcake’s list of favorite things. He absolutely adores stuffed toys—especially the squeaky kind—and you’ll often find him trotting around proudly carrying one in his mouth.

Cupcake does well with other dogs when introductions are slow and thoughtful. He seems to prefer female dogs over males, but with the right match and patience, he can do well in a multi-dog home. He has shown some interest in cats, but we believe he could learn to live peacefully with them if given proper boundaries and guidance.

This smart boy is already fully potty-trained and crate-trained, making the transition into a home much easier. Cupcake would thrive with a family that understands he’s still figuring the world out and is willing to give him the time, love, and reassurance he needs.

In return, you’ll gain a cheerful, loyal, and affectionate companion who just wants a warm place to call home and people he can trust. Cupcake is ready to leave his stray days behind and start the next chapter of his life—with you.

If you’re interested in adopting, please fill out our application, and someone will be in touch with you shortly!
https://animalwelfarefriends.org/adopt/application/
