Crystal's Story

She sleeps late and then she sleeps a big part of her day, all cozy and warm. She doesn’t wake up during the night!
She loves small pieces of chicken and gobbles them down. She has not been big on Kibble but you never know. She was good having a bath. Great with small children. Great with dogs, big and small.
Background: She came to me just four days ago. She came from a tough, stressful life at only five years young. She is adorable. SOFT fur, cute feet, freckles on her tummy, and one piercing blue eye and one brown one! She was shaking when I first picked her up. Fear, fright? Mistrust? Nerves, stress? The unknown? All of the above? When I hold her for calming, she curls her four paws around my forearm like a Koala bear would. (Hint, new name idea?). It calms her just sitting on my lap all toasty and warm. She likes watching other dogs and no problem with nose-to-nose contact.
She will need loads of patience and your ability to drop what you’re doing when she’s trembling. After a few minutes of petting her and rubbing her soft hair or belly, she will calm down. She needs patience to potty train because no one took the time. I’ve used puppy pads in my home. She is not leash trained. I believe she was in a yard, not walked.
If you want a sweet, loving, adorable, soft little dog, she is it. She doesn’t come all tidy and perfect. She comes with a lifetime of less-than-perfect experience. Perhaps less-than-happy experience. Honestly, she looks like a little puppy and you may have to pretend she’s a little puppy for a little while. She’ll get there❤️

Hearts 4 Paws's Adoption Policy
When you adopt from Hearts 4 Paws, you are rescuing a dog that would otherwise be homeless, abandoned, or even euthanized. By providing a home to an animal, in return, you receive love, companionship, and the responsibility to care for another life. Hearts 4 Paws rescues adoptable dogs from local shelters and temporarily places them in foster homes until a “forever home” is found. Before any adoptions occur, all potential adopters go through a carefully reviewed and considered application process.
