Cruze's Story
Cruze is a handsome 3-year-old, 65 LB, neutered male mixed breed with a docked tail who was surrendered to our shelter when his family was no longer able to care for him.

Cruze is a fast-paced pup! He loves being outside, going for walks, car rides, and being with his human family. He is the perfect dog for an able and active family. He is a snuggler, fully believes he is still a puppy, and will give you all of his love if you allow it. He would much rather sleep next to you than by himself.

Because he is still a puppy at heart, he gets excited and jumps up on people.

He knows a few basic commands (sit and lie down) but would benefit from attending an obedience training course with his new family to help with the jumping up and focus some of his puppy energy.

He is a strong boy, so heavy canvas leashes (no flexi leads), a martingale collar, and/or secure harness are recommended. A home that has a fenced yard and a family committed to providing daily leash walks and play sessions would be ideal. A tired boy is a good boy!

>> Dogs: According to his previous family, Cruze does well with other dogs. If interested in adopting, please bring any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet.

>> Cats: Cruze's previous family reports that he is okay with dog savvy cats but wants to play with them, if they allow it. Slow introductions between dog and cat with the ability to separate initially is strongly advised, especially in a new adoption situation Involving a large, strong dog.

>> Children: because of his size, strength and jumping up habit, kids over the age of 6 would be the best match for Cruze. Please bring all resident family members to the shelter to meet Cruze.

>> Other notes: Due to being crated 24/7 in a previous home, Cruze cannot tolerate being confined to a crate. He gets panicky when he is trapped in a small space and tears his way out. He is also a chewer and will chew on things left within his reach.

He is a big, goofy lovable lug who will give his lucky adoptive family lots of love and entertainment.

If you are interested in adopting Cruze, please e-mail charleysstrays@yahoo.com.
