Cristella

We just don't get it. We have fostered many dogs over the past nearly 4 years, and Cristella (we call her Stella) is just the best, best dog we've ever had in our home. And that's compared to a pretty high bar, as we've had so many pups that we've loved and who are great dogs. But this one is special. So what don't we get? We don't get how she made it into a shelter and then into foster care, as she is almost the perfect dog. But thankfully she's here safe and sound now, and available for her new forever family to find and take her home for good.<br/><br/>Stella is about a year old, and is just the gentlest, sweetest dog there is. She's full of life, and absolutely loves being near her people. And by "her people", we mean anyone she meets as she is a loving, trusting girl. If you are looking for a guard dog, well keep on looking because this one is a lover not a fighter. She loves to snuggle on the couch or floor near anyone available. She's also flexible and likes some solo time. She wanders in and out of her crate at will, as that is her spot where she enjoys just chilling out. She sleeps well in her crate, and does so throughout the night without making a peep. She loves chewing on bones (who doesn't, right?) and has found her favorite toy to be soft squeaky things. She also loves chasing a ball, and loves to engage and play, dialing her energy up and down as the situation dictates. And she's great around other dogs...curious and interested, but not insistent on invading their space until they are ready. Oh, she's about 35-40 pounds, is spayed and current on all of her meds and shots, is potty trained, and is still working on her leash manners. <br/><br/>She is a happy dog, with a tail that's almost always wagging, and LOVES belly rubs. She knows basic commands (come, sit), is treat and food motivated, and is a very smart girl. She would be a good fit with any kind of family, with or without kids, and with or without other pets. A fenced yard where she can stretch her legs, run (yes, she's very fast!), and chase a ball would be ideal. The only "must have" in a new forever family is showing her love, and being happy and grateful when she shows it right back by 10 fold.<br/><br/>This sweet girl is the real deal and will be an amazing catch for some lucky family. Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. <br/><br/>Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. <br/><br/>Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog.
