In this case,on Friday last week, we agreed to find out what was going on with Crash by taking him for x-rays to Animal Emergency & Critical Care of Lynchburg.<br/><br/>The doctors there are objective and forthcoming if they feel a case is too extensive for rescue to manage.)<br/><br/>In this case, x-rays revealed a broken pelvis, and depending on the severity, this is something that sometimes can heal on its own with extended enforced crate rest. We agreed to let Crash rest over the weekend, and on Monday transferred him to Peaksview Animal Hospital for further assessment.<br/><br/>It was determined on Monday that a plate could be inserted to stabilize the broken pelvis, and hopefully he would heal more quickly with few complications. Surgery was scheduled for Thursday, yesterday, and ended up being much more extensive than the x-rays had originally revealed. Several hours of surgery later, our boy Crash made it through to recovery, and is now being medicated with extra strong meds and will spend the weekend at the hospital.<br/><br/>PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA.
