COURTESY POST - Domino - Minocqua, WI's Story

DOMINO IS A COURTESY POST. SHE IS FOSTERED IN WI. PLEASE REACH OUT TO THE PERSON NOTED AS THE CONTACT PARTY IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN MEETING DOMINO. DOMINO IS NOT A DOG WITH OUR RESCUE.
-----------------------------
Oh, oh, Domino! Domino is a sweet, joyful herding dog mix, 4.5 years old and weighing in at 46 pounds. More than just the embodiment of a great Van Morrison song, Domino is playful, loyal and just the right amount of “chill.” She loves fetching, swimming, boat riding, but mostly, hanging with her humans!

Aside from her adorable head-cocking poses and belly-up sleeping posture, Domino will capture your heart with her gentle nature and downright silliness. She can play hide-and-seek, tug-of-war and anything having to do with chasing and being chased with the best of them. Domino has a great loyalty to her toys (the squeakier, the better), protecting her home, and most of all her people.

Around adult humans, Domino is just right. She is happy to be in your presence and is incredibly well behaved. Domi is superb indoors, doesn’t need crating and displays zero destructive tendencies. She is gentle with humans in all regards, will gingerly take food from your hand, heels well on a leash, and is fine sharing her food, toys, etc. She is an amazing watchdog and is territorial, as herding dogs go.

Domi could use a little work with jumping up when you arrive home, and gets excitable when people come to her door, but she has been working with a trainer to address those behaviors. She is shy of people she doesn’t know, but will warm up quickly. Little humans definitely make Domi anxious, so a family of older kids and adults would work best for this precious girl. Mostly, Domi needs to be in a one-dog home, as she has an aversion to most other dogs. Her trainer has also been working on building up Domi’s confidence in this regard.

Domino is spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations, and comes with a doggy bed, car hammock, loads of toys and a history of lots of love! Due to impossible circumstances, her adopted family must find Domino a new Forever Home.

What does that Forever Home look like?
- Domi’s person(s) should be active and interested in exercising her body and
sharp mind. They should be familiar with the joys and challenges associated with
herding dog breeds.
- They view Domino as a member of the family and the pampered pup that she is! Domi responds best to positive reinforcement learning methods, treats and of
course, affection.
- As the princess, Domi needs to be the only dog in the home. She would do well
in an environment that is free of constant dog interactions. She is learning to be
less reactive to other dogs while walking and leashed. The right family for Domi
will continue to provide her with the training and tools to help her feel comfortable with other pups.
- Domi is curious about kitties, but probably shouldn’t live with one.

Are you the right fit for this extraordinary dog? Please, only serious inquiries! Domino currently lives in Northern Wisconsin. We are open to facilitating her travel and adoption.

Contact Kelly at kellyojohns@gmail.com with questions or to communicate your interest. You may also call/text Kelly at 715-409-3813. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY.
