Courage's Story
We are getting a flood of owner surrenders in the last few months and the tide continues to rise - right now we have (5) in rescue and (3) more waiting to come into rescue. They are being surrendered for a variety of reasons from illness, death in the family, moving, etc.

Courage is one such case, although FLGDR does everything in our power to keep dog with owner, there are some things that even we can't do anything about. Courage is one such case, he is VERY MUCH loved by his owner and has been treated like a prince for his 4 years of life. His birthday is New Years Day and he was surrendered to us on Christmas Day. We've worked with his owner to try and reunite the two, but the high cost of rentals is not something even we can assist with.

So he is being offered for adoption. He is a sweet boy that is highly intelligent and trained in two languages. He stands 34" at the shoulder and weighs in at 130#, which is just about right for him. He was just recently neutered so the process of mellowing continues. He loves his stuffed animals and cuddling on the bed. He has always slept on the bed with his previous owner. In rescue he sleeps on one of the many dog beds scattered throughout the house. He has a moderate prey drive so no cats. He was not raised around children but seems to love them at the events. He will require an owner with giant breed experience and the willingness to be the leader of the pack.

He has been highly trained in both English and German, once he respects you as the leader, he will obey without hesitation.

There is nothing he needs from the rescue, he is crate trained, UTD on vaccines, neutered, obedience trained, house broken and ready to go to his forever home.
