Cory's Story
Meet Cory, a sensitive, goofy 3 year old, 55 pound Doodle mix looking for an experienced, adult only, pet free home.

Cory is incredibly affectionate, loyal, and deeply people oriented. He forms strong bonds and is the kind of dog who will truly be your dog. He loves being close to his person, is very in tune with you, and has a sweet, silly personality that comes out more and more as he feels safe. He can be playful, a little dramatic, and very endearing, the kind of dog who keeps you smiling.

He is also very responsive and eager to learn. Cory has made impressive progress in foster and does really well with clear structure and consistency. He enjoys routine, responds well to guidance, and has been improving on leash, staying more focused and walking more calmly, even around distractions.

In the home, Cory is a calm and loving companion. He is snuggly, house trained, not destructive, and happiest just being near his person. He has his favorite spots, his favorite people, and even his favorite neighborhood stops where he looks forward to saying hello. He is working on his barking!

Cory is a sensitive dog, and in busy or unpredictable environments he can become overstimulated. When that happens, he may get vocal or a bit jumpy, but these moments have become much less frequent as he has settled into a consistent routine. He does best with someone who can read his cues and help him stay regulated.

He is currently on daily Fluoxetine and takes Trazodone as needed, which have helped him continue to feel more settled and successful.

Cory would do best in a quiet, pet free home where he can fully relax and continue to build confidence.

For someone experienced who can offer structure, patience, and a calm environment, Cory is an incredibly loving, fun, and devoted companion who will bond deeply and be by your side through everything.
