Corduroy Miller's Story
Corduroy is 7 years old, weighs 13 pounds, and is just beginning to discover what it feels like to be loved and safe. He is one of the sweet boys recently rescued from a breeder, so he’s still learning about all the wonderful things that come with being someone’s cherished companion.

Corduroy is settling into his foster home and, so far, is a quiet and gentle boy. He mostly ignores his foster siblings, so we think he could happily live with another dog—or possibly even a cat. Honestly, if a cat approached him, he’d probably just run the other way!

He would do best in a calm, quiet home with a patient family, and we think he could be especially wonderful for an older couple. Young children may be a little overwhelming for this gentle boy.

The really exciting news? Corduroy's potty manners are incredible! He does need to be carried in and out, and he needs plenty of time once he gets outside, but he is doing wonderfully.

At night, Corduroy is an absolute dream. He sleeps beautifully all night in his crate and seems to appreciate having his own little safe space where he can relax and feel secure. His crate—or another special cozy spot of his own—will be an important part of helping him continue to blossom.

He's not quite ready for his close-up yet and isn't a big fan of photos. But that's okay. Right now, we're much more interested in helping Corduroy learn that he is safe, loved, and finally home.

We're still getting to know this sweet boy and will share more about his personality as he becomes more comfortable.

Corduroy doesn't need a perfect family. He just needs a patient one who will give him time, kindness, and a safe place to call home. And in return, we believe this precious boy will give his family something very special—the joy of watching a scared little dog discover how wonderful life can be.

Please apply at tzuzoorescue.com if you are interested in adopting from Tzu Zoo Rescue. Typically, an application and home visit (both of which are required for adoption) MUST be completed, BEFORE a potential adopter will be introduced to one of our pets, in order to first determine that our basic adoption requirements are met, prior to introductions being made. We also utilize personal reference and vet checks (to ensure that any pets already in the potential adoptive home are current on vaccines, heart worm prevention and sterilized) in our adoption process, all of which is intended to ensure that the best match, between pet and people, is made. The adoption fee is based on on the dog's age.
