Cora's Story

Hello. My name is Cora. I am a mixed breed and weigh just over 10 pounds. I am around a year old. I am very skittish, but a sweet and loving dog. I require a lot of patience in the beginning when trying to get warmed up to you, but once I do, I am such a joy! I warm up to children very quickly. I love children and playing with other animals. I am still very hesitant around men, taking longer to warm up to them than to women. May indoor pen or crate are my safe places no matter where I am and will retreat to them any time I feel uncomfortable. I prefer to sleep there at night as well. I still have a lot of puppy left in me! I am mostly potty trained, with the occasional accident if left out of my crate for long periods of time alone. I also pee a little when I am scared or really excited. My fosters say I am a MEGA chewer. Here’s what they said about that: “At first, she would chew on anything and everything, but she has gotten better, and with the appropriate chew toys mostly stays away from the things she shouldn’t chew on now.” Their comments about me are so kind: “Overall, we think Cora would do great with a family who has children and pets that is willing to take the time to let her warm up to them! She is so much fun to be around and is just a bundle of joy and energy. We have loved having her in our home, and can’t wait for her to find the perfect family. If you are looking for a family dog to grow up with your children, she would be the perfect dog for you!”

If you are interested in Cora, please visit www.pawscare.org, and click on the online application.
