Cora's Story
AN INQUIRY FROM PETFINDER IS NOT AN APPLICATION! READ THE ENTIRE POST FOR INFORMATION HOW TO APPLY.

Meet Cora! Cora is a 5-7 year old female corgi and she weighs about 30 pounds. Cora arrived in rescue after her previous family had too many dogs and could not care for her. She is thriving in foster care and her foster mom says: ✨ Meet Cora ✨ Some dogs take weeks to settle in. Some take months. Cora took minutes. I’ve fostered many dogs, and I can honestly say Cora has walked into my home — and my heart — faster than any foster I’ve ever had. From the moment she arrived, she acted like she finally found the place she was always meant to be.
Cora is gentle, easy, and quietly special. She’s crate trained, potty trained (as long as she’s let out), walks beautifully on a leash and harness, and will absolutely never miss a meal. She’s also relatively quiet, the kind of dog who doesn’t bark just to hear herself — she prefers peace, closeness, and calm companionship. She doesn’t meet strangers — only friends she hasn’t loved yet. I have both big and small dogs, and when Cora met her foster siblings, there was no fear, no hesitation. Just calm confidence and kindness. She fit right in, as if she knew she was safe now. With her gentle nature and steady temperament, I believe Cora would do well in a home with respectful children ages 10 and up. Bath time? She tries her best. Blow dryer? She tolerates it like a champ. When she first arrived, she was nervous about getting on the couch — unsure if she was allowed to take up space. Once she learned that this house is a place where dogs are welcome on the furniture and in hearts, she melted right in. Her favorite thing? Laying under your feet while you rest on the couch, soaking up gentle foot rubs like they mean everything — because to her, they probably do. Cora loves toys and chew bones, and she’ll need them in her forever home. She’s still on the thinner side for a little bread-loaf (corgi), so good nutrition is important. We’ve been making sure she’s well-fed, cared for, and slowly filling out — inside and out. Cora is the kind of dog that doesn’t demand much, but gives you everything. She’s easy to love, easy to live with, and impossible to forget. If you’ve been waiting for a sign — for a dog that feels like home — Cora is it. She’s ready for her forever. 🐾💛

Cora is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped and has had her teeth cleaned.

Cora is fostered in the Orlando area and her adoption donation is $475. If you are interested in applying to adopt Cora, please visit www.floridalittledogrescue.com to read the adoption process and complete an application! Please note that emails simply asking "Is this dog available" will not be returned, as applications are worked in the order received and availability largely depends on when you apply:) Please also know we do not adopt out of state! Thank you!
