Cora's Story

Once upon a time, Cora was a tiny, frightened puppy living as a stray with her family. The world felt big and scary, and trusting humans didn’t come easy. When she first came into foster care, she wouldn’t even look at her foster mom—she’d turn her head away, too afraid to connect. But Cora’s story didn’t end there… it just needed patience, love, and time. Today, this beautiful 8-month-old chocolate lab mix has blossomed into a sweet, playful girl who loves other dogs, enjoys toys, and has a soft spot for kids. She absolutely adores her foster mom and is learning every day that she is safe and loved. Cora is fantastic with all dogs and cats!

Cora is fully vaccinated, spayed, kennel trained, and mostly potty trained—she’s already come so far! She will need a patient, understanding adopter who will give her the time she needs to build trust. Once she lets you in, her love is something truly special. Telling her she’s a “good girl” and that she’s loved helps her feel safe and secure—and you’ll quickly see her heart start to open.

Cora would thrive best in a home with a fully fenced in yard and another dog in the home to show her the way. She loves kisses from her humans and being told she’s pretty and a good girl. She has good recall once she knows she’s safe with you in the yard.
