We are helping Cora's owner find her a new forever home. Bio written by owner - please read:<br/><br/>We are heartbroken to be looking for a new home for our 4-year-old pit bull Cora. She has been an incredibly loved member of our family, and this decision is purely about safety and giving her the environment she needs to thrive.<br/>She had a very difficult start in life (found abandoned as a puppy, but you would never know it from how loving she is). She is truly one of the sweetest, most affectionate dogs-she's a 55 lb lap dog at heart who just wants to be close to her people.<br/><br/>About her:<br/>-House-trained and very well-behaved in the home (no crate needed) issues<br/>-Can be left out during the day without<br/>-Very athletic-loves running, exercise, and playtime<br/>-Has done great in dog daycare and loves other dogs<br/>-Currently lives peacefully with another dog o 3 Walks well with a harness (can pull at times)<br/>-Extremely loving and gentle with her family, including our older child<br/><br/>What she needs:<br/>She struggles with anxiety, especially around feeling like she needs to "protect" the home. While she is friendly with people outside the home, she can become fearful and reactive (barking, pacing, raised hackles) when new people enter her space. Recently, she had a fear-based reaction when we brought home our newborn, and our vet and family feel it's safest to find her a calmer, more predictable environment.<br/><br/>Ideal home:<br/>-No infants or very young children<br/>-Experienced dog owner (especially with anxious or protective dogs)<br/>-A quieter home with fewer visitors or someone<br/>-Willing to work with a trainer<br/>-Active lifestyle to match her energy<br/>She has never bitten, lunged, or shown aggression, but she needs someone who<br/>understands her anxiety and can help her feel safe and secure.<br/>We love her deeply and are committed to finding her the right home-not just<br/>any home.
