Copper's Story

Hi there! I’m a 6-year-old Bloodhound mix with a big heart, a laid-back personality, and a little extra fluff that I’m working on shedding! I’m currently on a diet to get my chunky self back in shape, so I’ll need my humans to help me stay on track. Just a little heads-up: I’m a perfect gentleman... until food enters the picture! Then I might get a little pushy because, well, a guy’s gotta eat!

I’m a pretty easygoing guy who believes in enjoying the simple things in life. My favorite activities include napping, relaxing, and soaking up the sunshine in a nice patch of grass. When I head outside, I have a very important routine to follow. First, I lift my nose into the air to check whether the neighbors are out. If they are, I may have a couple of things to say about it! Once I’ve handled my neighborhood announcements and taken care of business, I find myself a nice grassy spot and plop right down. Why rush when you can relax?

I absolutely love greeting my people when they come home, and I’m always happy to tag along for a truck ride! Now, don’t let my laid-back lifestyle fool you. I may act like an old man when it’s time to get into a regular car, but mention a truck ride, and suddenly I’ve found my second wind! I might need a little convincing to get into a car, but a truck? Well, that’s a whole different story!

If you’re looking for a sweet, well-mannered companion who enjoys relaxing in the sunshine, keeping an eye on the neighborhood, welcoming you home, and spending quality time with his people, I might just be your guy!

I’m a little chunky, a little chatty, and a whole lot of lovable. All I need is a loving home, a little help with my waistline, and someone who appreciates the art of taking life one nap at a time.

Could you be the one to give this handsome hound his happily ever after?

MORE INFO:
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, or scheduled to be if they arrived in our care too young. Each dog has been seen by our veterinarian and treated for likely the following (all various): Age appropriate vaccines, overall health exam and other alignments as they come up. All dogs are dewormed, given core vaccines (Bordetella, DHPP (3 of them if a puppy) and Rabies as well as all are microchipped and on a monthly preventative for flea/tick/heartworm prevention.

All of our animals are placed into foster homes so they thrive and the transition is easier.

If interested in learning more or meeting this pup, please fill out our adoption application.
The application can be found here:
https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/JHRA/Dog
