Copper's Story

Copper is a 1 year old Boston Terrier that weighs about 18lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and on heart worm prevention.

Copper is a sweet and petite pup with the cutest floppy ears! He may be small in stature, but he is big in puppy energy and personality! Hes a very good boy that loves to play tug of war with his doggie siblings and has a special like for balls and squeaky toys. Copper currently sleeps with his foster mom in her bed at night. He is house trained and crate trained and used to being crated when home alone. Another plus, Copper also loves kids! When Copper arrived in rescue, we discovered he had elevated liver enzymes. After a thorough negative workup and monitoring, they are trending down, but still not quite normal. For now, he is on a liver support called Denamarin(cost $45 per month). He may need to continue this long term, but he will need another liver enzyme recheck in 6 months and we're hoping the med can be stopped at that time. The rescue will cover the cost of the 6 month lab recheck. Copper will need to have annual liver enzyme rechecks to ensure all is well. He is also on a special dog food(cost $45 per month) that keeps his tummy happy(other food caused him GI upset).

If you would like to give Copper his forever home, please submit an application at southerncrossbtr.com. The adoption fee is $375. He is being fostered in Lafayette, IN. Approved adopters must be willing to travel to where the dog is being fostered in order to adopt them.

For a complete listing of all of our available Bostons, or to learn more about SCBTR, please visit our website at www.southerncrossbtr.com.
