Cooper's Story

Meet Cooper

Cooper is looking for his forever family! Cooper is a mixed breed, brown and white, male puppy who is about 3-4 months old and about 16-20 pounds. He has beautiful green eyes!

Cooper is a mix of everything puppy. When he first came here, he loved to nip ankles and hump. Thankfully, the other dogs at his foster home helped show him the ropes of how a good puppy should act and he stopped doing both of those things fairly quickly.

Cooper loves to play inside and outside, loves toys and loves bones. He loves the other 4 dogs at his foster home who range in age from 8 months to 10 years old. He has played with kids at the Petco events and did well, however, since he was an ankle biter when he first came, very young kids might not be best for him. I also do not think Cooper would do well with birds, gerbils, or cats at a home because he does have a high pray drive outside.

When Cooper isn’t playing, he loves to cuddle with you or with the other dogs in his foster home. He has climbed gates inside to be with you if you leave him in another room. He isn’t destructive, he just wants to be by you! At night, he loves to cuddle up and watch a TV show and will lay quietly with you.

Cooper sleeps quietly in a crate at night and keeps it clean 99% of the time. He is not fully housebroken though and will need some more training on that. He’s still just a baby after all!

As he is still a young puppy, he will need a person or family would is willing to be patient with him and spend some time training him in basic obedience as well. He does know “sit” and we have been working on others. He is very treat motivated and will be a quick learner!

Cooper really is a sweet puppy who is just looking for love! He hopes you will be the one to choose him!

Our standard adoption fee is $465. We offer a $15 discount for adopters who pay by cash or check, making the adoption fee $450.

The adoption fee includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at one of our participating veterinarians, age-appropriate core vaccinations, fecal test, deworming, current on flea and tick preventative, and microchip.

To ensure the best match for both our dogs and adopters, we require a fully completed adoption application, a phone interview, and a meet-and-greet with the entire household. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed.

Submitting an application does not guarantee adoption and does not obligate you to adopt; it simply allows us to begin the review process.

To request an application or for additional details, please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org

Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed.

Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to approve or decline any adoption application based on the best interest of the dog.
