Cooper's Story

Cooper is a sweet, happy boy who's ready to trade kennel life for the loving home he deserves. A few years ago, Cooper lost his owner and, through no fault of his own, has been living at a boarding facility ever since. Despite everything he's been through, he hasn't lost his joyful spirit. Every chance he gets to stretch his legs, splash in the water, or chase a tennis ball, Cooper reminds everyone just how much he loves life.

A quick summary is easy: he's friendly with people (including kids!), loves walks, car rides, and anything involving water. He's a tennis-ball enthusiast and always ready for playtime. Cooper is best suited for a home without small animals due to his strong prey drive. However, that same drive helps make him an incredible working dog, who will be happy to train and train.

One of the most remarkable things about Cooper is how well he has adjusted despite spending the past few years in boarding. He hasn't become withdrawn or discouraged—he's remained a happy, affectionate boy who simply enjoys every minute he's given outside his kennel.

Now all Cooper needs is someone to give him what he's been waiting so patiently for: a family of his own.

If you're looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion with a heart as big as his smile, Cooper is ready to meet you. Could you be the one to give him the second chance he's been waiting for?

Cooper is fully vaccinated, heart-worm negative, and neutered. He is ready to find his forever home. He is 3 yrs old and approximately 55-60 lbs.

Cooper is being courtesy posted. Please contact: info@wagsfundrescue.com and we will put you in touch with his sponsor. Cooper is in Houston, TX. Transportation may be possible to arrange for the ideal adopter living outside of Houston.

WAGS Fund's Adoption Policy
WAGS ADOPTION PROCESS We work hard to find the perfect home for all the dogs and cats in our care. Listed below is the sequence of events that we go through to assure that our pets and our applicants are the perfect match for each other: 1. As a courtesy to our foster parents, we will ask you to fill out the first part of the adoption application form prior to setting up a private meet and greet. After reviewing your application, we will contact you for a phone or email discussion, usually with the foster parent, to discuss your current situation, your expectations of pet ownership, and to answer questions that you may have about the dog. After the initial discussion, if you decide that you would like to move forward with the adoption procedure, we will arrange a time for you to meet your prospective new family member. We may suggest you bring your other pets to this meeting. 2. After receiving your application, we will verify with your vet the care on your current or previous animals. 3. If the initial meeting goes well and both parties agree to move forward with the adoption, we will make an appt to schedule a home visit and/or arrange to have the pet meet your other animals. 4. If, at the home visit, both parties agree that the home is good match for the adoptable pet, we will move forward with finalizing the adoption. Most of the paperwork will be done electronically. 5. At a mutually convenient time, we will arrange to transfer the pet to your possession. We will take a happy tail photo and collect the adoption fee (if it hasn’t been previously paid electronically). The medical records will be transferred to you via email. 6. The adoption coordinator will check in either by phone or email to make sure things are going well and to answer any questions you might have.
