Cooper's Story
Linus' Journey to Trust

Cooper is a young dog who has already experienced more hardship than any dog should. He was humanely trapped alongside his companion, Hazel, after a difficult start in life that left him understandably wary of people. Having been let down by humans for much of his young life, Cooper has learned to be cautious and slow to trust.

But underneath that uncertainty is a dog who deserves a chance to feel safe and loved. Since arriving at Wilton Animal Rescue, Linus has begun to let his guard down and has formed a bond with Carol, our rescue founder. This progress gives us hope that, with the right environment and a patient, understanding person, Cooper can continue learning that people can be kind and trustworthy.

Cooper desperately needs a quiet, loving foster/forever home where he can decompress, build confidence, and learn to trust at his own pace. He needs someone who will respect his boundaries, celebrate his small victories, and never rush him before he's ready.

His ideal foster home would be a calm household without young children, preferably with one or more friendly, well-adjusted dogs who can help show him the ropes and teach him what it means to be part of a family.

Cooper doesn't need someone to change him overnight. He just needs someone willing to give him the time, patience, and understanding he has never had.

Could you be the person who helps Cooper discover that the world isn't such a scary place after all? Sometimes the dogs who take the longest to trust are the ones whose progress makes the journey most rewarding.
