COOKIE (cc#7197)'s Story
WONDERFUL NEWS!! .....COOKIE HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!!

We call her Cookie. (Cookies are sweet and desirable, and so is she....) A kindly gentleman found this little girl. Afraid she could be hit by a car, and certain there must be someone looking for her, he scooped her up and made sure she made it safely to the animal shelter. At the shelter she settled in, but she definitely prefers to be with people to being in the safety of a cage. She loves being in the office, and especially loves all the treats she gets while she explores. Given the chance, she'll be up on your lap in a blink.

Cookie is an interesting dog. Checking all the photos of long hair or wirehair Dachshunds we're not sure if she's a wirehair, or if she's a Dachshund mixed with a wirehair terrier or maybe even mixed with a Yorkie. Hmmm, is she a Dachshund or a designer dog? We're thinking the long body with short legs is similar to a dachshund, and the fur is more terrier. There are long hair doxies, and wire coat doxies..... hummm, maybe she's that kind of mix. We'll keep guessing, because she's not talking. In any event, she's a real sweetheart.

Cookie's been to the vet. They estimate she's about 2 years old, and she weighed in at 18.8 lbs. Her Heartworm/Lyme test was negative as were her Fecal/Giardia tests. Her Distemper and Bordetella vaccinations were updated. and she was spayed. ....Cookie had already been given a 1-year Rabies Vaccination at the shelter by the town vet. Precautionary Bravecto was applied to make sure there weren't any extra critters hitching a ride (ie fleas/ticks, etc.) The vet noted Cookie has an ear infection, which is being taken care of - ear meds.

WONDERFUL NEWS!! .....COOKIE HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!!

.........
