Cookie's Story

Meet Cookie the perfect delightful companion!. She was shy at first but is learning to enjoy her walks at a comfortable pace and is non-reactive on the leash. With her unique mix of energy and affection, she sounds like she’d thrive in a home with someone who understands her needs. Plus, her playful side, like wanting to chase lizards, adds to her charm! It’s clear she has so much love to give. She's house broken, crate trained, respectful of your things and quiet.
Cookie is an adorable affectionate couch loaf. She's grown out of the high energy phase so at 4.5 yrs old she will still hike with you but won't chew your things or counter surf. She's the perfect roommate! After overcoming some tough challenges in the shelter, she's now thriving with her foster mama. Cookie loves giving kisses and affection as a true companion!

While she prefers a calm home without other dogs or children, her love for adults is pure joy, complete with enthusiastic butt wiggles. She likes peaceful quieter environments. Cookie would do best with someone experienced with a prior large breed. She wants to know her person isnt afraid or apprehensive just because she's a pittie, she's just a love bug.
She's ready to fill your life with love! Can be left home alone, wont chew your shoes. Will go in and out of her crate. Shes ready to fill your life with love.

Healing Hounds Rescue's Adoption Policy
I have them fill out my foster/adoption contract and after receiving I call to vet them and understand their abilities and the type of dog they would like. We have a good hour long convo of everything from slow introductions, training, positive reinforcement, needs of the dog, and the adopters expectations. I either do a home check or ask for pictures of where the dog would be staying, sleeping, eating. Then we plan a meet and greet with adopter and adopters other animals or family members to see how the dog reacts. I want to set up my rescues for success and make sure it's a good fit for everyone.
