Cookie is a sweet, 7-year-old Beagle with a gentle personality, a dash of sass, and a serious talent for cuddling. She was a little shy when she first arrived in her foster home, but she has settled in beautifully and is becoming more confident every day. She may have applications in progress, but is currently available. <br/><br/>Cookie is a bit of a shadow and loves being near her people. She has quickly learned her foster family's routine—when it's time to get up, eat, walk, and go to bed. She even starts heading to bed early because she knows bedtime means cuddling with her foster mom while she reads. She loves pets and will give you a little paw if she thinks she hasn't gotten enough attention.<br/><br/>She may also be the quietest Beagle ever. Her foster family has yet to hear a Beagle bay from her! When she's excited about dinner or sees you come home, she's more likely to make adorable little squeaks that sound like a guinea pig. She also contributes some very cute snores at bedtime. Cookie enjoys playing with toys and loves to wrestle and chase one of her foster brothers. She respects the boundaries of the larger dog and generally ignores their cat. She would likely enjoy having a friendly, respectful dog companion, but she could also be happy as an only dog. She has met children ages 2–9 and has been comfortable being gently petted by them. Her experience so far has been with respectful kids, so a home with children who understand how to interact gently with dogs would be best.<br/><br/>Cookie is still building confidence on walks. Loud and unexpected noises, particularly busses, garbage trucks and delivery trucks, can make her nervous. Quiet, low traffic streets tend to be ok. She currently prefers exploring the backyard and sniffing at her own pace. Her adopter should be willing to continue helping her gain confidence with patience and positive reinforcement.<br/><br/>At home, Cookie is an easy companion. She does well in her crate, sleeps through the night, and has also done well sleeping outside of her crate.<br/><br/>Adoption fee is $375 and includes spay/neuter, microchip, fecal/deworming, vaccines and prevention up to date. Ohio residents only.<br/><br/>STS is a foster-based and volunteer-run rescue. We do not have a physical location or set hours for you to meet dogs, and it does take time to answer each inquiry. All dogs are in foster homes and once an application is approved and a home visit is completed you will be able to schedule meet and greets with available dogs.
