A kind local stray feeder cared for her until rescue stepped in. She is now in Virginia and doing wonderfully in her foster home. She loves the cooler weather, going on walks, and being around people. One of her most endearing quirks is how she rubs against you like a cat when she wants affection.<br/><br/>Cookie was recently adopted and returned in less than 24 hours. The adopters reported resource guarding toward their dogs and that she attempted to chase their cat. Prior to this, Cookie had done great with other dogs and cats and is currently being fostered with another dog and has had 0 issues. We believe the very quick transition, new environment, and lack of decompression time may have been overwhelming for her. There are higher fees associated as we have to pay to have the animals transported. We are a non-profit rescue. Any access revenue made is used to care for animals with additional medical expenditures that would otherwise result in adoptable dogs having to be left behind and euthanized.
