General Notes | Meet Browser, an 8-month-old chocolate Lab mix who is upgrading his location from Texas to Colorado in search of his perfect match. Our standard application processing timeline is 12 - 14 days. <br/><br/>Personality | Super sweet and happy! He gets a little shy with new people and dogs but warms up quickly. He gets nervous when left all by himself and is prefers his humans home more often than not.<br/><br/>Story | Dumped in Texas and a kind, local took him in and reached out to MHLM!<br/><br/>Other Dogs | Great with other dogs! He loves to play with the younger dog in his foster home and is respectful of the grumpy, senior lab. He gets nervous around new, large dogs, but is more submissive and whimpers away. He warms up quickly with all dogs. <br/><br/>Cats | He lives with a kitty in his foster home and does well. He mostly ignores the cat. <br/><br/>Children | Browser isn't being fostered with kids, but he's been a gentle sweetheart to all the kids he's met! He's not too jumpy, takes direction well, is a total lover and his foster mom thinks he'd do great with some kiddos of his own!<br/><br/>Training | He's potty trained and does great in the crate when his humans are home with him. He sleeps in his crate all night and also is an amazing car passenger! He would love to go on lots of Colorado adventures with his humans! He's a smart cookie and has figured out how to break out of regular crates. He doesn't try to escape when you're home, but as soon as you leave, he gets to work! When he's in a heavy duty crate, he's able to settle in his crate and does great. He just needs adopters who will invest in a crate designed for smart, escape artists to thrive. <br/><br/>Leash | He doesn't pull too much on the leash but does get sidetracked by all the sights and smells on his walks! He's still a young, curious pup and will need continued training so he can learn to be the best dog he can be! He recently walked on the leash with a 10 year and didn't try to get away and walked politely for her! He also took a trip inside petsmart with his foster mama and did amazingly! He sat nicely at the checkout counter and didn't bark at any of the sounds and dogs in the store!<br/><br/>Activity Level | Moderate. He's a young lab that loves to play! He loves to wrestle with his foster sister, chew on his toys, and then take a good nap on the couch or on the ground by your feet!<br/><br/>Health Notes | Healthy and happy :)<br/><br/>Thank you! <br/><br/>Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $575 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year old, $525 for 1 - 6 years old, $475 for dogs 7 - 10 years old, and $350 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $625. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, transportation to Colorado, and supplies while in foster care (that currently average over $750 per dog).<br/><br/>Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet and greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. We will not respond to emails about animal availability or allow meet and greets without an approved adoption application on file. <br/><br/>Please Note | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved. Your application is good for one year from the date of applying for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page!
