Connie's Story

Hi my name is Connie and I am an 11 month old, 70lb Great Pyrenees mix. Can you believe with this face, I was not wanted by my owner? Crazy right? But not to worry, I was taken by a great rescue who was happy to have me and placed me in an awesome foster home. Now I have doggie siblings who I can play with all day long now and I am treated like a princess! My foster mom says I am super sweet and am learning quickly. I know some of my basic commands and have learned to come when my name is called. I am housetrained too and I have learned not to jump on people. I am currently living with 7 other dogs and 2 cats and am good with all of them. I will be honest and tell you that I don't like the crate. I will not fight you on getting into one, but I am scared to death of them since my prior owner drove 90mph down the highway with me in the back while I was trapped in a crate. I love to be outside and go for walks and hikes, but I will need some additional leash training as I don't always walk right beside you, but with so many things to catch my attention what puppy can help wander a bit?! And while I have an energetic playful side, I also enjoy a good nap snuggled up by your side or laying at your feet.

My ideal forever home would include a physical fence where I can sit outside in the sun and survey my surroundings. And someone who has some experience with my breed and know our tendency to bark at the New England leaves falling from all the trees right now! I also wouldn't mind having a doggie sibling or two. I have not lived with kids yet, but I know I would love them. I know I can make my new family very happy! Who has a home for me??

I am healthy, spayed, up to date on all my vaccinations and currently in a foster home in Oklahoma. My bags are packed and I am ready for my forever home! If you are interested in adopting me or learning more about me, please email Darcy@asecondchanceforziva.com or fill out an application at www.asecondchanceforziva.org
