Conger (A570299) looks a lot older than he actually is, but he's just been through a lot in his life. He arrived early this month from Madison County as all skin and bones, but he is already starting to look and feel better since falling into our care. In his kennel, he spends most of the day sprawled out in his bed waiting for visitors to stop by and meet him. If you do decide to visit with him, treats are the way to his heart. Conger seems to do well on a leash but may pull occasionally. He takes leash corrections like a champ, and would make a good companion for someone looking for an easygoing walking partner. Conger is super treat-motivated and already knows sit. As soon as the treats come out, his eyes are on you waiting for a directive so he can be rewarded. We think he could learn new commands with ease! He has not yet been tested with other dogs, but if you would like to test him with your existing dog, you can stop by the shelter and a staff member can assist you.
