Commander's Story

If you'd like to know what Commander is thinking--just look at his ears! Ever expressive, very communicative, and always paying attention, those ears will tell you everything you might want to know. That--and the smile on his face. It is ALWAYS there. He is one smiley guy.

This very good boy is gentle in nature and kindly seeks attention and affection from the people he meets. He tends to love everyone! He can be active and energetic, although not off the charts. He likes toys and food, but is not super-driven. For a Malinois, he is quite easy going. He seems wise beyond his years.

He was rescued from the street, found as a stray, and taken in by WAGS, a rescue group in Westminster, CA. They noticed what seemed like very high toy drive and contacted Search Dog Foundation. We brought him in for our search dog training program, but at the end of the day (actually at the end of a few weeks) we decided he really didn't have the crazy high drive/need for toys and action that we must have for the work our dogs do.

Lucky you! This lovely fellow would be suitable for a pet home with a moderate activity level. Walking, playing, hiking, a few of these activities scattered throughout the day and he would be satisfied. If you are very active and looking for a dog that can keep up with you--he might also oblige! He's that kind of guy. He's innately nice on the leash (no major pulling or leash over-reactivity) and is learning basic manners.

With his irresistible smile, a sweet and gentle demeanor, and a willingness to please, this kid is the full package.
