Colt

Colt is a pistol...! Although he is a small caliber one, he has a big attitude. He hasn’t seen much of the world and would love to see it all. He is the perfect hiking buddy, and would be up for any adventure. Curious and athletic, he doesn’t take off to chase squirrels or other wildlife, but stays close to his person. It is a joy to take him out! After a fun day of exploring, he loves to snuggle up and chill on the sofa. He has excellent house manners and is awesome with nice cats. Every dog is his friend, but he prefers large dogs to be mellow. Like most little dogs, he has a mighty voice and loves to bark . He is learning to control that bark, but progress is slow.... Unfortunately, due to his previous life, he is not much into new people. He is looking for a forever home with someone who will be very patient and understanding with him. Routine, and structure with consistency, make him feel safe. Colt is looking for a self-confident person to guide him through life. Once bonded with a person, he is very loyal and cuddly. Colt, being part poodle, needs grooming at least every month. Because Colt is not much into new people, he will take time to bond with his new owner. Thus, he is looking for a forever home within a 50-mile radius of Goleta, CA. That way, he can visit with his new owner several times to bond with that person, before moving into his forever home.
