Collin's Story

Meet Collin!

Collin is a handsome young pup with so much life ahead of him and a family of his own still to find! He is approximately 5–5.5 months old and currently weighs around 20–25 lbs. We estimate he will reach roughly 50–60 lbs when fully grown, although we cannot guarantee his adult size. We believe Collin is a Hound mix, but without a DNA test, his exact breed mix is our best guess.

Collin was found wandering and eventually brought in by animal control. Sadly, no one came forward to claim him. He has been at the shelter since September alongside his brother, waiting for the chance to begin a new chapter. More photos of Collin will be available soon!

Like most puppies his age, Collin is playful, curious, and still learning about the world. He needs a patient family who will give him time to settle into a home and help him learn its routines. His adopters should be ready to work on potty training, basic obedience, socialization, and household manners with consistency and encouragement.

Collin loves other dogs and would likely enjoy having a canine companion to play with and learn from. Another dog is not required, though, and he could also thrive as an only dog with plenty of attention and opportunities to socialize. Daily exercise, playtime, and mental enrichment will help him put his puppy energy to good use as he grows.

He has not been formally tested with cats, so we cannot guarantee feline compatibility. A home with a cat may be considered with adopters prepared for slow, supervised introductions and careful management. Collin has also had limited exposure to children while living in the shelter. Older, respectful children who are comfortable with a playful young dog may be the best fit while he continues learning his manners.

We would love for Collin to have access to a yard where he can safely play and explore. A securely fenced yard is preferred, but it is not a requirement. Apartments and condos may also be considered on a case-by-case basis, provided his family can consistently meet his exercise, training, and enrichment needs.

Adopting Collin means being there for both the puppy he is today and the adult dog he will become. He will need guidance through adolescence, patience as he learns, and a family committed to him for life. With structure and plenty of love, we believe this sweet boy has all the potential to become a wonderful companion.

Collin’s shelter is severely overcrowded, and dogs like him face uncertain futures simply because there is not enough space. He is spending precious weeks of his puppyhood waiting. We would love to see him leave the kennel behind and start making memories in a loving home of his own.

Health:
Collin is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and on monthly preventatives. He is currently too young for heartworm testing.

Important Information:
All of our dogs, including Collin, are currently located in Texas and will be transported to their adopters once the adoption is finalized. Transportation is included in the adoption fee.

Please note that adopters will not be able to meet Collin in person before committing, as transport occurs after the adoption has been finalized.

Breed labels are educated guesses based on appearance and available shelter or medical records. We encourage adopters to focus on each dog’s individual personality, needs, and long-term compatibility rather than breed alone.

MA License #479
