Cody's Story

Step right up, folks, and prepare to fall head over paws in love with the one and only Cody!!! Cody is a five and a half year old Husky whose unique looks and loving personality are sure to make him one popular pup! This handsome fellow was brought here through no real fault of his own when his owners realized they had bitten off more than they could chew by adopting a dog as high maintenance as a husky. So now Cody is eager to see what the next leg of his life's journey is. Could it be with you?
This extraordinary boy is a true canine companion, packed with personality and charm. Cody is a typical husky who embodies a delightful mix of athleticism and curiosity, with a healthy dose of independence thrown into the mix. But don't let his love of solo adventures fool you; Cody is an incredibly friendly and affectionate soul who adores nothing more than a good ol' game of fetch (although, good luck getting him to give you the ball back!) or a nice long walk with his favorite people -not to mention endless snuggles!
And when it comes to making new friends, both human and animal, Cody is an absolute pro. He's a social butterfly who gets along swimmingly with his fellow four-legged companions, always eager to join in on a game of tag or a friendly wrestling match. He loves the kiddos too, but as always, parents should be mindful that his over-the-top playfulness could result in a child being knocked over or potentially scratched. He is very used to being around others and sharing the attention though; his previous household included kids, dogs, and cats, and he did fantastic with/around them all! Of note however, he is way too rough and tumble for something super tiny like a kitten or a rabbit or anything delicate like that. So please don't think about adopting this goober if your home is one that produces litters of kittens or contains exotic pets.
Please do your research on Huskies before adopting one! They are extremely energetic dogs who get bored easily and need a lot of exercise and mental stimulation to live their best lives. Due to the aforementioned husky tendencies, Cody's owners will need to have a very secure fence, as he is a bit of an escape artist when left unattended in an environment that offers easy access to adventures in the great big world. We cannot at this time definitively say the height or material of the fencing required to contain him, as Cody's previous yard had a very short and admittedly not well constructed fence, enabling him to climb it easily. Potential adopters, please just keep this in mind and prepare to enact solutions if necessary, as Cody will most likely be undeterred without the proper containment setup.
Don't let that scare you off though! His desire to explore is understandable; he just needs to do it safely, with his human at his side. In fact, Cody is the perfect partner for a person seeking a dog who can keep up with his or her active lifestyle while also providing endless love and devotion in the process. He's an explorer at heart, always eager to sniff out new trails and discover the world around him, and he would thrive with an owner committed to facilitating these activities so that he can live the most joyful life imaginable. But at the end of the day, he'll be just as happy curling up by your side for a well-deserved nap and some cuddles.
So, if you're searching for a playful and fun loving buddy to join you on all of life's escapades, look no further than Cody. He's the whole package: a loyal friend, a curious adventurer, and a loving companion. He's also up to date on shots and already potty trained; and he even knows a couple tricks! So he's definitely a "move in ready" type, which can be hard to find in a shelter a lot of times. Come meet him today, let the fun begin, and see if you think it's a match made in heaven!
