Cody's Story

YOU MUST HAVE AN APPROVED APPLICATION IN ORDER TO MEET OUR PETS.

Meet Cody!

Cody is a sweet, approximately 7-year-old Shih Tzu weighing in at 13.5 pounds. He and his fur sister, Lexi, were taken in after their owner passed away. Their current caregiver is now facing health issues of their own and reached out to Loving Pet Project NC for help, so Cody is looking for a new family to love.

Cody is neutered, microchipped, and fully up to date on all vaccinations. He tested negative for Heartworm and Lyme, is current on heartworm prevention, and is scheduled for a dental cleaning after Thanksgiving. He has one cherry eye, which will be repaired before adoption.

Cody recently attended a pet adoption fair and did wonderfully—he enjoyed meeting new people and was even comfortable being petted by a child. He has a playful side but also loves curling up in his bed. In fact, sometimes you have to convince him to get out of it for potty breaks! He does great on a regular potty schedule.

He does well with other friendly dogs but would also be perfectly happy being the only pet and soaking up all the attention. Cody is also a great traveler—he quietly relaxed in his bed for a four-hour trip.

Cody would thrive in a home where someone is home often. He may bark for a bit when left alone, so a single-family home is likely a better fit than an apartment or duplex.

If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion with a gentle spirit, Cody may be the perfect match.
