Cody's Story

Cody is a 2 year old Boxer with a big heart and an even bigger personality just waiting to shine. His previous owner made the incredibly difficult decision to surrender him due to joining the military and other circumstances that were completely out of his control. Cody was loved, and this transition has simply been a big adjustment for him.

Like many sensitive souls, he can be a little slow to feel comfortable with new people and environments. But give him patience, guidance, and a little time — and his goofy, playful side truly comes alive.

Cody has medium to high young-dog energy and would thrive in a home with a yard or with someone committed to regular walks and activity. He’s smart, eager to learn, and already knows “sit” and “lay down.” He enjoys training and mental stimulation, so he’d do best in a home where someone is around often and can keep him engaged throughout the day.

When it’s time to relax, Cody is all about the cuddles. He loves curling up in bed or on a chair and absolutely believes he’s a lap dog. He bonds closely with his person and will happily be your loyal shadow.

Cody is not aggressive, but he can be a bit poorly mannered in play and will need continued guidance and structure. He does have some natural guardian instincts — not excessive barking, but he may low growl or bark if he hears an unexpected noise, especially in darker or unfamiliar settings. Once he understands everything is okay, he settles quickly. He’s simply cautious and protective of his person.

He’s good in the car, decent on leash, and overall a very happy boy once his initial anxiety fades. Slow, thoughtful introductions to new people and pets will set him up for success and allow him to truly thrive. He is currently fostered with dogs, cats, and dog-savvy kids.

If you’re ready to help this sweet boxer blossom, Cody is ready to meet you. ❤️

Fostered in Springfield, PA

Adoption application: https://airtable.com/appfQ4VwNRgl8eJ7Q/shrAeGg1voRANylSz

PRAI
Kennel License #18024
