Coco Bean's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Coco Bean was meant to be adored. She will hold her face up for caresses, closing her eyes in pleasure and even standing up on her hind legs to take it all in. Her fur is beautiful -- so soft and healthy. She arrived in her Florida foster home on 6/1 and it took her a bit to adjust. Night noises unsettled her and she did howl and bark, but within several days time she has become a good sleeper. She can still be a little jumpy and the vacuum or sudden movements might send her scurrying away, but she comes right back. Outside, Coco Bean's sniffer is constantly working. She has a thinking spot in the yard where she will stand, stare, sniff and just be. She appears to have a low to moderate energy level and her house training is going well, but sometimes she needs a leash walk as when left in the yard she prefers smelling and forgets to do her business. She does well with the other dog in the home and other dogs she’s met on walks. When meeting new people she starts off a little timid, but if allowed her space she will become comfortable. Coco Bean sleeps on a dog bed in the bedroom or in her crate in the living room. She does fine being crated when her family is not home and has been left for up to 6 hours. Once when left out, she explored the recycling and chewed a shoe. She hasn’t shown much interest in toys yet, but she does enjoy pulling the blanket off of the couch! Human food is highly motivating, but dog food or dog treats are ho-hum. Coco Bean shows her attachment to her foster parents now by following them all over, getting right next to them on the couch and now allowing them the pleasure of a snuggle. She is heartworm negative but we do want to do a dental for her. She will be ready to go on sleepover the first week of July.
