Coco's Story

As a proud independent lady, she is looking for a loving home where she can be your one-and-only pet. She sports a few minor scars that offer a small glimpse into her younger days, but today, she is just a big, beautiful sweetie waiting for the perfect forever family to accept her wonderful quirks.

Now, Coco is a girl with a vibrant personality, which means you'll get a warm, very vocal welcome when you first meet her. Don't worry, though once she settles down, her hound-dog excitement melts into pure, calm affection. Her absolute favorite pastime is lounging on human beds and couches, though she is a polite lady who sometimes expects a special invitation before she hops up to snuggle. When she gets a burst of pure joy, she will grab her favorite stuffy or a pillow to share with you, hoping you'll engage in a delightful game of "chase me" to match her happy energy.

When it comes to house manners, Coco is an absolute dream. She is completely potty trained, enjoys free-roaming privileges without causing any mischief, and already knows commands like "sit," "shake," "inside," and "let's go." She strikes the perfect balance between needing moderate outdoor exercise and mastering the art of the afternoon nap. On outdoor adventures, she is a very strong girl who gets quite enthusiastic, so using a gentle lead leash could help her polish her walking etiquette.

Because of her proud hunting heritage, she has a high prey drive and a wonderfully quirky, socially awkward curiosity about other pups. Coco will need slow introductions to other dogs of her size. For this reason, she cannot live with cats, small animals, or other dogs—she simply wants to soak up all your love guilt-free! Thankfully, she absolutely adores people and kids, making her the ultimate loyal companion for a family looking for a single-dog superstar. If you're ready to embrace a perfectly imperfect, sweet hound who will match your joy and steal your heart, Coco is ready to welcome you home.

Visit [www.speakfortheunspoken.com](http://www.speakfortheunspoken.com/) will give you more information about our rescue.

Speak for the Unspoken's Adoption Policy
Before completing our online application please read the following: Our adoption process involves multiple steps and it typically takes up to 2 weeks from the time we receive your application to the time your adoption is finalized. We reserve the right to deny any application without explanation. All of our dogs and/or puppies are in foster homes. We do not schedule “Meet and Greets” without an approved application. Our Adoption Fees start at $325 per dog, $75 per cat or kitten. We can adopt an animal ‘out of state’, but you must be willing to travel to where the pet is being fostered, and transport the animal yourself after the adoption. If you have other animals (dogs/cats) in your home, they must be up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm testing and prevention (dogs), and spayed/neutered. We will verify this with your veterinarian. If your animals are not up to date, your application will be denied. Please make sure to fully complete your application; leaving questions blank or not including all requested information will delay your application. Once your online application is submitted, it can take our volunteers 5 to 7 business days to process it. If we have questions about your application, we will email you. Please make sure to add our email, adopt@speakfortheunspoken.com to your email so our messages do not end up in your spam folder! Once your application is approved by the processors, it is sent to the person fostering the dog you have applied for. They will make the decision on whether the animal that you applied for is the right fit for you and your home. They may also choose to initially contact you via email or phone. If you do not respond promptly to their email or phone call, they will move on to the next applicant. Your application will be saved on file for 1 year and will be used for all dogs you would be interested in that time-frame. No need to keep filling out applications! Adoption application approval means you are approved to adopt an animal from us, it does not mean you are necessarily approved for the animal you applied for. There may be specific circumstances in your home that do not make it a good fit for one animal, but it may be a fine fit for another.
