Coco's Story

Meet Coco, a sweet and funny girl who loves her people! Coco turned 5 years old on 7/16/24 and still has the energy of a young pup - she would do well in a home with a large fenced in outdoor space to get out her zoomies and work on her jumps, but she loves her couch cuddles.

Coco is mostly house trained, crate trained and has mastered her basic commands. We have also been working on some more advanced tricks! She loves enrichment toys and games. Her energy level isn’t as high as it used to be and she often opts to hangout on her couch with a bone over playing in the yard now.

Coco displays some leash reactivity that has been improved with training and a gentle leader, but still needs some work. She is also protective of her yard, house and people. Introducing new people on the property with treats is the best way. She loves to meet new people, but needs to know they’re good. Out on walks she meets new people with 0 problems.

Coco would do best as a solo dog with no other animals nor children. She has been around cats in her foster home, but did have an incident with one when she was previously adopted.

Coco has been attacked by another dog due to her high energy and awkward personality. She has also hurt a 5 lb dog, due to this we feel she should be an only dog. Coco has previously lived with other male dogs previously.

When she cuddles with her hooman, she likes to be as close as possible. Even when given the down command (she can be given the command via hand signals or verbal commands), she will crawl closer to you.

Coco knows a variety of commands, such as sit, down, touch (my hand), look (at me), gimme paw, gimme other paw, crawl, paws up, off, leave it, wait, stay, get it, to your room, kennel up, muzzle up (she should be muzzled for vet visits as they’re scary, but over time she has gotten better and better), settle, jump, back up (this one is a hit or miss one) and loves to learn new things. She does not often jump on her foster family, but does new people. She also knows “whoops” and “too bad”, which are great training tools.

If you’re looking for a funny and loyal companion then you’ve found your girl!

If you’re interested in Coco, let us know!
