Coco's Story
Meet Coco!

Coco came to us from a heartbreaking situation. Her family was losing their home and could no longer keep her. Their young daughter was devastated at the thought of Coco going to a shelter, so she went door-to-door asking families if someone would take her in.

Thankfully, she knocked on the right door. A kind woman saw how beautiful and sweet Coco was and wanted to help. As luck would have it, she was also friends with one of our foster moms, and Coco soon found her way into rescue.

And we’re so glad she did! Coco is the kind of dog who is hard not to fall in love with. She is confident, friendly, affectionate, and incredibly smart. She already knows how to sit and shake, responds well to correction, and has a wonderful way of connecting with everyone she meets.
She's great with kids of all ages, and friendly with new people.

Coco is a medium-energy pup, with playful bursts followed by a nice ability to settle down. She loves to play and would enjoy having another dog to play with, but she would also be perfectly content as an only dog. She has lived successfully with other dogs and has been exposed to horses. She can get a little vocal if another dog barks at her, but she’s just setting boundaries.

Coco is potty trained and has excellent house manners. She hasn’t needed to be crated in her foster home. She was given a bed and immediately understood that it was her place and is very respectful of the home.

Her leash skills still need some work. She pulls and may bark at squirrels and some other dogs. Walks are new to her, so she just needs some practice, patience, and an owner willing to work with her on basic leash skills.

Most of all, Coco is simply a really lovely dog. She is confident, social, affectionate, playful, and eager to be part of a family. Her foster mom admits, “We will hate to see her go!” But we know her forever family is going to feel incredibly lucky when they find her.

If you're looking for a sweet, smart, fun-loving companion with a big personality in a small package, Coco may be your girl!

Apply today!

BREED ESTIMATE: Spaniel Mix
GENDER: Female
APPROXIMATE WEIGHT: 21 lbs
APPROXIMATE AGE: ~ 3 to 4 years old
COAT TYPE: Short coat
ADOPTION FEE: $425
OTHER INFO: UTD on shots/spayed/microchipped
LOCATION: Reston, VA

FOR MORE INFO OR TO ADOPT: Please go to https://adopt.worthydog.org and complete the application.

You can also help save dogs like this one by becoming a foster, providing a rescue dog with a temporary home and giving them the love and care they need until they are permanently adopted.
