Coal's Story
Coal is an 8-year-old sweetheart who's ready to spend his golden years with a family of his own. He came to our shelter as a stray, so we don't know much about his past, but we do know he's an incredibly loving dog with a gentle personality.

One of Coal's favorite things in the world is belly rubs! If you're willing to give them, he'll happily soak up all the attention you have to offer. He's a calm, affectionate boy who simply enjoys being with people.

Since we didn't know his vaccination status when he first arrived, we took introductions to other dogs slowly. So far, Coal has passed several dogs of all sizes without any issues and has been polite during the interactions he's had. He also shows very little interest in our shelter cats, making him a promising candidate for a variety of homes. As always, we recommend slow, supervised introductions with any new pets.

Coal keeps his kennel clean, which tells us he's likely house-trained and appreciates having a tidy space.

He came to us already neutered, and we've brought him up to date on all of his vaccinations, so he's ready to head home.

You may notice the bandage on his tail in his photos. Coal has what we affectionately call "happy tail." He wags his tail so enthusiastically that he hits it against the sides of his kennel, causing it to split open. The bandage is simply there to help it heal while he continues to spread happiness everywhere he goes!

If you're looking for a loyal, easygoing companion who still has plenty of love to give, Coal is your guy. Come meet this sweet senioryou'll quickly see that age is just a number, and Coal has a lifetime of love left to share.
