Coal, Male, 2 years old, 73 pounds <br/><br/>Coal is a STUNNING Retriever/Shepherd mix that was originally brought to FAPL as a stray. Coal is a big, active guy and weighs 73 pounds. He would love an equally as active adopter, as he so loves walks and play time!! An experienced adopter, as well as large breed experience is preferred. With his enthusiastic nature, any children in the home should be older (16+) and a home without cats. His favorite toy- a jiggly ball!! He can entertain himself for hours!!<br/><br/>From foster:<br/>Coal is such a handsome dog!<br/>He’s energetic, playful, LOVES to be outside in the backyard ‘exploring’ <br/>loves playing catch and will bring the ball right back. Will find the ball in the yard if I say ‘go find your ball! Ohhh he LOVES toys so much! <br/>Likes to chase his tail! Knows his name, and commands sit, down. Coal is a strong dog, and would benefit from an adopter seeking a large breed dog. Coal hardly ever barks/even when seeing dogs pass by yard on sidewalk! He’s fantastic with the other dog in his foster home and truly would like a canine buddy. He’s so quiet in crate at night! Coal has been a pleasure to have!!<br/><br/>No appointment is necessary to adopt. Adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis, by visiting the shelter. Applications are not accepted in advance, but will be filled out upon adoption. <br/><br/>If you have another dog and/or children in your family and are interested in adopting a FAPL dog, please bring them with you for a meet and greet. Please bring a copy of lease agreement if you rent home/apartment. <br/><br/>All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are dewormed, microchipped, and spayed or neutered. Dogs 7 months and older are heartworm tested.<br/><br/>Upon visiting FAPL, if you don’t see a particular dog you are looking for that is on the website, please ask at the front desk.
