CLYDE's Story

This big guy is CLYDE, about a 9 year old male Plott hound that was brought to HOPE and his owner never came for him. CLYDE is your typical hound, very sweet but also enjoys just wandering around, smelling everything and doing his own thing. He would thrive in a home that has lots of space for him to roam outside (while being monitored of course so he doesn’t run off). From what we do know about him, he was an outdoor dog but we at HOPE want animals that are adopted out to be indoor animals. This guy deserves a big comfy couch (or bed) to snooze on, to get all of the love and food he so deserves. So far, he seems fine with most of the dogs here but proper introductions with any other dogs in the home would be necessary. We have seen that he does seem to resource guard special treats, like a peanut butter lick mat, so making sure he is fed separately from other animals/kids is important. He is totally okay with us feeding him and setting down his bowl but it’s best not to disturb him while he is eating or enjoying other special treats. Knowing a little bit about his background, we don’t blame the poor fella for wanting to protect his food. CLYDE just needs a loving, forever home!
