Clover's Story

Clover is currently living and training with her handlers at Fluvanna Women's Correctional Center.

Through a partnership with the Virginia Department of Corrections, Pixie's Pen Pals (a program of FETCH a Cure) places homeless dogs in the care of incarcerated people for dedicated, individualized training and socialization guided by canine behavior specialists.

The bio below was provided by her handlers at Fluvanna Correctional:

Clover is shy and sweet and is the prettiest beagle you will ever meet. Give this timid girl some love and patience to help her open up. Once she does, she will demand attention and pettings from you.

She has a regal air and will often strut like the princess she is. This lady will steal your heart as well as your hat. Don’t worry, she won’t destroy it, but will create a nest of socks, hats, and all her stuffed animals in her bed. She enjoys an occasional game of tug but her favorite pastime is going on a sniffing stroll outdoors. Her dainty demeanor is perfect for Sunday snuggles and long naps on the couch.

She plays well with other dogs in the program, is quiet, and responds well to basic obedience cues.
